It’s an organ you could easily damage if you don’t take good care of it. There’s nothing tricky about keeping your liver in good shape. It’s all about a healthy lifestyle.

Here are some ways to keep your liver healthy…

Avoid alcohol and cigarettes and Illegal drugs: Even small quantities of alcohol if consumed regularly can burden your liver. The liver is responsible for detoxifying alcohol so having complete breaks regularly from alcoholic drinks helps your liver.

Eat a healthy diet and get regular exercise: High-fiber foods such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains are good for liver health. The same time you must also increase the protein intake mainly from the sources such as fish, beans, and nuts.

Avoid foods which you are allergic or sensitive to, as these weaken liver function and stress the immune system.

Reduce your body weight: obesity is the major risk factor for developing the fatty liver disease. If you are obese, start following a balanced diet and work out regularly to maintain y123our body weight.

Learn how to prevent viral hepatitis: It’s a serious disease that harms your liver. There are several types. You can get hepatitis A and E from eating or drinking water that’s got the virus that causes the disease. You can get a vaccine if you’re traveling to a part of the world where there are outbreaks.

Hepatitis B and C are spread through blood and body fluids. To cut your risk, don’t share items like toothbrushes, razors, or needles. Limit the number of sex partners you have, and always use barrier protection e.g. latex condoms.

See to it that you along with your family members are vaccinated with hepatitis A and B vaccines. M ay reduce your risk of acquiring contagious diseases.

Avoid self-medication: Nowadays every one of us rushes to the medical store when sick rather than rushing to the doctor. Over intake of drug dose can cause harm to the liver and in severe situations may lead to liver failure too.
